SUNSHINE COAST PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

The Sunshine Coast Photography Club (formerly The Caloundra Camera Group) is one of the oldest Clubs of its type in the region. It was incorporated in 1997 and is affiliated with the Photographic Society of Queensland.

The club offers members a wide range of excursions, social activities and photography competitions in a supportive environment for all skill levels.

New members are always welcome regardless of photographic experience or equipment as we strive to encourage the development of photographic skills and knowledge so that we all may achieve and share a greater enjoyment of the art of photography.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT – IMPORTANT!

We have been flooded with entries for our monthly competitions. Thanks to the overwhelming support of our members, entries have exceeded our most optimistic projections and sadly we have had to undertake a bit of crisis management.

PLEASE NOTE:
Effective immediately entries in all competitions for the remainder of this year will be limited to a total of FIVE (5) images, with a maximum of ONE (1) entry per category.

This decision was made reluctantly after extensive deliberation and detailed analysis of entry numbers over the past two months.

Over the past year participation in our competitions has increased by close to one hundred percent, which is outstanding, but this has placed an unacceptable load on our volunteer judges, and diminished the available time to give each image the time that is due.

We are greatly disappointed by the need to bring about this change, and look forward to your continued support.

Shelly Beach

It happened, I have had the incorrect information re the tides.

The high tide on the 17th is going to be at 11.01am.

So with that in mind, we will meet at 9am, so we will be photographing on an incoming tide

Bribie Island Trip

This is a clue!!

Sunday the 11th of October. Sorry I got the date wrong it is the 11th. Not very good with dates

This will be a day on Bribie Island where we meet for morning tea/coffee then make photos as instructed by the clues given to each team.

There will be teams, depending on the number of participants, who will compete for the cherry ripe prizes.

After walking around Woorim looking for the clues, we will then have lunch before travelling to Bellara finding more clues to photograph and then finishing off with a shot of an iconic Sunshine Coast view and afternoon tea/coffee and heading home.

Brisneyland postponed!

The proposed July Brisbane Adventure is on the backburner for a bit. In these strange uncertain times we were at risk of doing too much, too soon, so save your energy for Maryborough and beyond, and perhaps we’ll see you in Brisbane later in the year.

We’ll travel to Brisbane and spend the day photographing the city.We should arrive there at a reasonable time in the morning and spend the day wondering around,  have lunch together somewhere, and continue in the afternoon, until home time.We could split up or wander around in groups just as we wish, nothing organised, apart for lunch.Travel in own cars or together to Hamilton morning tea and then catch a ferry into the city.If we wanted to we could select our best 5 images and show them at a share night, if Helen can find a little time for that.
