This page is intended as a notice board for competitions that are held between camera clubs in Australia. All but one of these competitions will be entered on your behalf. Our Grading Committee will review everyone’s photos from the previous 12 months and select approximately 4 images (depending on that competition’s criteria) that best reflect each topic. The PSQ Salon of Excellence (SEQ) is the one Interclub competition that you will need to enter for yourself.
PSQ SALON OF EXCELLENCE
SEQ 2024
Closing Date – Sunday 17 March 2024 for digital & prints.
Our club usually does quite well in this competition and could take out some awards both for our club and individually if we have more entries, so we encourage you to consider entering this one.
This competition requires members to submit their digital and print images individually, then the prints need to be submitted at the our share night on Wednesday 28th February, 2024 for delivery prior to judging.
Topics: Open Colour, Open Mono, People, Nature, Social Documentary & Creative, (All subjects Non-A-Grade and A-Grade).
Entry fee: $15 for the first section and $5 for each additional section.
Awards will be announced at the Gala Dinner of the PSQ Convention 2024 in Brisbane on May 4,5 & 6 at Kedron Wavell Services Club. https://www.psq.org.au/convention-2024.html
Winning entries (including prints) will be forwarded to the Australian Interstate Photographic Competition later in the year. Before entering, be sure to read the instructions about image sizing, topic definitions etc.

AUSTRALIAN CUP
AUSTRALIAN CUP

Results Notified: by virtual awards presentation – 26 July
Images will be chosen and submitted by CCG, from your entries into our club competitions for the previous 12 months.
The Australian Cup awards and results will be announced on Friday 31 July, 2024. An electronic catalogue will be sent to all club co-ordinators by mid October.

Any image that shows a flavour of life in Australia including landscapes, people, events and places including architecture, birds and animals. Images may be taken in any of Australia’s territories.
Images must be a single image as captured by the camera. Images must not be composite images that combine subjects or elements from different scenes – replacing a background or sky, for example. HDR, focus stacking etc that has been performed in camera is permissible.

RIVER CITY PRINT COMPETITION

Judging: 27 July 2024
This competition is open to all camera clubs in Queensland that are affiliated with PSQ (Photographic Society of Qld). Images will be chosen and submitted by CCG, from your entries into our club competitions for the previous 12 months.
Categories: Open colour, Open Black and White, Animals Open (all land & sea animals including birds & insects, Portrait (human only), Non A Grade Open.

QLD INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

AUSTRALIAN INTERSTATE PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION
AIPC 2024 (Australian Interstate Photographic Competition)
Judging: May 4,5,6, 2024
Images to be judged are selected from the winning images from SEQ 2024.
Presentation: Images, both prints and digital, are displayed each year during APSCON and a catalogue is made available to all entrants. Whenever possible, the Trophy, medallions and certificates are presented at APSCON following the screening of the digital entries.
