Gympie Trip Sunday 21st June
A Day in the Life of Gympie
If anyone wishes to be early, there is a market at the Lake Alford, starts at 6.00 am.
We will meet at Cafe by Farmer and Sun.
Shop 308 1-5 Woolgar Rd Southside Shopping Centre Gympie
We meet there for morning tea and questions at 9.30 – 10.00 am
Set off at 10.30am
There will be 5 groups who will travel to 12 locations taking between 3 to 5 images at each location, basically a close up, a mid focal length and a wide angle image at each location.
Each group will have instructions as to the order they are to photograph at each location, the order is important as points will be deducted if the order is incorrect.
Each location will have a suggested time for each group to use at each location, if you keep to the times you should be on time at the lunch venue and the last location.
There will be points deducted for those who arrive late at either venue.
You all are to use jpeg, you can though use raw and jpeg for each image, at the end of our time in Gympie we will meet at the Puma Kybong for the final coffee and to down load your images to the club’s laptop.
Our judges (yet to be appointed) will score each image from 1 – 5, so points deducted will score in the negative.
Our lunch break will be at 12.30 at the Phoenix Hotel at 29 Red Hill Rd Gympie.
If you are thinking of joining in on this activity can you please let me know before the 16th of June. gg@gerrygibson.com.au

There is no cost for the event but participants are liable for their own accommodation, meals and costs for entry fees and commercial events. Most of us will be staying at the Huntsville Caravan Park. It appears the cabins are fully booked You may choose to stay at the Mineral Sands Motel, just 1 minute by car and 13 minutes walk from the caravan park.
There will be a whale watching trip with Whalesong on Friday 28th. Cost is $105 per person and this is a saving off both the regular and concession pricing. Morning tea and lunch is included. We require a $50 deposit to secure your booking. Please let me know ASAP if you wish to take part.
For those early morning risers there will be time to shoot a sunrise at the iconic Urangan Pier before the cruise boards. We can visit the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens in the afternoon or free time if you wish.
Other events are being planned in due course as Covid-19 restrictions ease and venues open up. I will plan an itinerary but of course members are free to choose to do otherwise. We are looking for a fun and relaxing few days with our fellow club members and partners.
While the official club event is 4 days some of us are staying longer.
As it stands we have 18 members and partners booked with 9 for the whale watching cruise.
