July 2019 Set Subject is “Altered Reality”.

Definition of Altered Reality:

An image that offers the viewer an “Altered Reality”. Meaning that you have manipulated multiple images so that that the work offers a believable alternative to what we know as ‘reality’. Just remember that the key words in this definition are:

  1. Believable. 2. Alternative. 3. Reality.

NOTE: This does not include taking an image and simply placing an ‘effects filter’ over it or adding “frames”. Your entry has to display your intention to challenge the viewer to believe in your new and altered reality.  Triptych will not be accepted.

NOTE: The Closing date for the July competitions is Midnight on Wednesday, June 12.

Brilliantly coloured king parrots, crimson rosellas and satin bowerbirds are common sights. Countless red-necked wallabies bound or preen in grassy areas. Swamp wallabies and red-necked pademelons prefer the cover of the rainforest but are observed along the roadside or during a rainforest walk.

The immense subtropical range of cool, green rainforest, eucalypt forests and woodlands is home to the world’s largest forest of bunya pines. Dome shaped bunya pines graciously raise their majestic heads above the forest canopy crowning a magnificent green splendour. High altitude grasslands include rare grasses of international interest.
