Sunshine Coast to Host PSQ Convention 2026!

We are excited to announce that we have accepted the Photographic Society of Queensland’s invitation to host its 2026 Convention here on the Sunshine Coast.

To minimise disruption to our normal club operation, a separate Steering Committee has been established to take responsibility for all of the detailed planning and administrative work.   We would like to thank Ralph Brown who has volunteered to act as Convention Convenor and Gerry Gibson, who will lead the Convention Committee, and hope that all of our members will support them over the coming months as they embark on this project.

We are in the early stages of preparing documents prior to the formal announcement at this year’s convention in two week’s time, and would like to draw from as many of our members images as we can for use in our promotion material.   If you do not wish your images to be used for this purpose could you please contact Ann.

Start time, start time, start time…….

We would like to start our meetings at 7.00 pm in future – this will prevent the last minute rush that we always seem to encounter, both on Competition and Share Nights. So, starting this coming Wednesday 23rd April – Share Night with Chrissie Robinson – please make sure you are seated and ready to start at 7.00 pm. Many thanks everyone! Come along to our next Share Night on Wednesday 23rd April where among other things, Christina Robinson BA, EFIAP, FAPS, QPSA, PSQA (Chrissie) will be talking about: learning to see the world differently;  the importance of being creative; where to find creative ideas; discussing various in-camera creative techniques, and, for those who love Photoshop, creative editing.

Chrissie will be happy to answer any questions you may have including any regarding specific techniques you may be curious about.

Support your Camera Club – enter the Australian Cup today!

It was a bit disconcerting for me (Peter) today, to discover while pressing some buttons behind the scenes, that fewer than 20% of our members have entries in the Australian Cup competition.

I admit I don’t .. but hey there’s a week to go isn’t there? Please don’t forget!

Surely every one of us has something in our catalogue that vaguely comes within the definition of”This is Australia? !

There are no individual prizes, as it’s an interclub competition, but the Club would greatly appreciate your support!
