Whilst you are all probably busy making sure you have got your entries in for next month’s competition (set subject Black and White), plus getting things ready for SEQ 2025, you might also start thinking about our new trophy competition being held this year – the Treasurer’s Trophy! Our lovely Treasurer, Trefor Ellacott (who takes wonderful images of flowers) has chosen the subject: FLORAL PORTRAIT.

Here’s the definition: “Single flower, up close and personal ie a portrait. The main focus should be on the centre where the pollen is – care should be taken to ensure that the petals are well focused. The background should be such that it does not overwhelm the flower. Background replacement will be permissible. Black and white is permissible but be aware that visual impact is a key factor!”

This is a competition open to all members/all grades, print only – each member can enter up to two prints. Entries will need to be in by Share Night, Wednesday 25th June 2025 (dpi’s to be uploaded to MPC and prints brought along by that date also), with the winner announced on Share Night, Wednesday 23rd July 2025 at our special Treasurer’s Trophy Evening. So lots to think about and keep us busy folks!
